The weather at the Grand Junction shows was a little hot but we all had a great time, did a lot of winning and as usual Lori did a lot of cooking and she is an expert at that.
Tahiti won the day she was entered
Jackson won
Dodie won twice
Beulah won
Norma Jean won 3 times
Tootie won
Moses won
and we ended up with 7 reserves

Doberman Nationals were the best ever, the girls did a great job. (Pictures to follow soon.) I am so proud of Tim, Connie and Gina. They are the best home ever.
Am Staff nationals are going well. I will be in Texas next week to pick up the dogs.

After the GJ show I had a lot of people e-mail and call me asking if I was upset with the way things have been going and how they went over the weekend but I've been traveling and haven't had the time to reply. I have to answer you NO. Why would I be upset? Each and every one of those dogs lived with me, was trained by me and finished with me. I would say it just goes to further give my program credibility and to prove my program works.
I am very proud of what I have done with each and every one of the dogs that has been in my program no matter what the breed.
Onward and upward to the next shows, competition and event.

We will start training again here at the house in 2 weeks so get ready to get your game on.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

It's been a fun week, family here, dinners, parties and lots of shopping. Retta loves to shop so we do quite well at it.
Family leaving in the morning and dogs with owners arriving tomorrow evening for the GJ shows. I'm going to have a house full.
Shows thurs - Sun then off to Doberman Natls in Topeka on Monday for a week. Get home on Sunday then off to Dallas & Austin for the Am Staff Nationals in Austin then to Dallas to pick up a van and 3 dogs to drive home. Before you know it the month of Oct. is half over.
I will be picking up the last dog to campaign when we go to Eukanuba, it will be flying in from over seas if I like it when I go. It's time now to hit the road, finish a group of dogs and be ready for the new year.
I will have 2 litters next year for their owners, dogs from over seas, new puppies ready to show. Who could ask for anything more.
A great time for all.
Can't wait to see the dogs that have already gotten here.
I need to learn to speak another language soon.

It's going to be a really interesting weekend for all.

Monday, September 20, 2010

Great weekend, great training sessions and I got to play with 4 eight week old frenchies. There is nothing cuter.
I'm excited about the doberman nationals in 2 weeks. It will be great to see old friends.
It's now time to go to AKC with the written proof needed to prove the BOD positions are bought and paid for and not member elected.
A puppy mill is a puppy mill no matter what you want to call it. It's nice to have that admission in writing also.
With a lot of help from a lot of people things are coming together nicely.
Thank you everyone for all of your time, effort and letters of proof.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

I'm going to go ahead and do the GJKC shows and fly out to Dobe Nationals on Monday. The girls will go with Shauna and I will meet up with them there.
I have friends coming to the GJKC shows and staying here with us. Should be a busy weekend for everyone.
It should be fun for us we didn't schedule any clients since we didn't think we would be here, so I just have the frenchie baby 4 days and Tahiti on Sunday. Adam is showing Tahiti on Saturday so everyone bring your camera's it should be fun.
Hopefully no wind this year.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

We are thinking of going from the Doberman Nationals straight to the Am Staff Nationals in Austin.
16 days of dog shows!

Monday, September 13, 2010

Had fun this weekend. It was great t0 see Kathy, Jenny just loves her new boy (Dante). I can't wait to see him in the show ring.
Little Mr. Dodie got WD on Saturday, He's so cute.
The specialty was a lot of fun the dinner was great the working event was fantastic. I love doberman weekends.

Salina, Nationals, Rapid City, Tucson next.

The imports will be here soon, I am excited about that. The owner of 2 of them speaks another language so it's hard to communicate sometimes. Get to preview the dogs before they get here when I go overseas delivering a puppy and looking at dogs for 2 other kennels here. I can't wait for 2011 it's going to be a fun year.

P.S. It's always funny when you here how a mentor is speaking bad and warning people away from their little kennel that learned "everything" from them. As the world turns.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

We are leaving for Greeley at about 8 in the morning.
I think I have talked to everyone. Giant's are at 3 tomorrow and dobes are at 4. That's all we have for specialties this week. All 4 girls will be there, it will be the first time for all of them at the same show at once.
It's a quiet weekend we just have giant's, frenchies, dobes and labs.
I haven't had a quiet weekend in a long time and I'm looking forward to one.
Can't wait for doberman nationals at the end of the month. I haven't been able to go for 5 years.
I have 4 great bitches going this year and will have the puppies next year.
Cha-Cha and Tahiti only need their majors and Little Miss Kandi already has 5 pts. I am so proud of them. It's going to be a great year for the dobergang next year.
Little Dodie will start his campaign in full force this weekend and I'm sure he will do great in the coming year.
Next year will be a great year for all of the corsi. I have 3 new dogs coming in the coming weeks from over seas and will be campaigning heavy with all of them next year.
Next year starts off with a big bang for everyone in Palm Springs.
Time to get a bigger van or a motorhome again.

Fame is one of my bitches that stole my heart from day one. She has produced beautiful puppies that will go far.
There have been very few who have stolen my heart or have accomplished what she has. I am very proud of her.

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

I've been having a great time the last few weeks.
My mom and I went on a road trip across the country and had a great time. I delivered a puppy to his new home, visited family and hit a few shows along the way. It's great to see old friends at shows and get to actually watch and observe since I didn't have any dogs with me.

Little miss Kandi had a great weekend plus got her CGC. Congratulations to Tim and Connie on doing such a great job with her. I can't wait to see how she does at nationals.

Thanks everyone for your private responses to my question. I'm not quite sure why you are afraid to say anything publicly but I'm sure you have your reasons, silly as they may be.
The one thing I am noticing is how the judges who have done the education seminars are being told not to go into your dogs mouth. They are being told to not take the breed standard into consideration, to ignore the light eyes and kinked or too short tails. To ignore the dogs that hit the dirt when they try to examine them.
Does any one wonder why they are being told this?
When a city or a county has troubles with a breed where do you think they go for information? To the breeders? NO. They go to AKC and to the AKC judges whom they consider to be the experts on dogs. So when they want to ban a breed from something whether it be an airline or BSL and they talk to a judge do you think what that judge has to say matters? If that judge is telling them that you can't go into a dogs mouth, you can't touch or examine them, or they have an unstable temperament who's fault is it that these judges are saying these things? It's the Judges Education Reps that are giving the seminars who are to blame.
If you want to save your breed you all better step up NOW and do something about it before it's too late.
You need an entire new BOD. You need to have the ones who are not running impeached, you need to run for office yourself. You need to be writing letters to AKC complaining. You need to be talking to judges and letting them know the truth about the breed. When a judge says they have been told they can't go into your dogs mouth ask them where they heard that and invite them to examine your dog. EDUCATE, EDUCATE, EDUCATE.
DO SOMETHING NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Training was great this morning, it was cool outside the dogs were all ready to work and we all had fun.
The puppies are doing great, stitches came out yesterday and they all feel like a million dollars today. Jason I will have new pics up for you today or tomorrow.
It's kind of sad, everybody is now leaving for their new homes so the house is going to get really quiet.
If we haven't talked about schedules for next weekend for the Greeley shows give me a call and we can be sure everyone knows the plan.
We won't be working again until October so every one have a great month and be sure to call if you have any questions or problems.

Friday, August 13, 2010

Today I was went the picture of a puppy sold as show quality that was most likely the worst looking puppy and the worst representative of the breed I have ever seen.
How can a breeder of good standing and good conscience sell someone a puppy looking like this? How can someone have a puppy out there representing their kennel looking like this and not replace it or refund the new owner their money?
People and their ethics or should I say lack of, never cease to amaze me.
On the other hand I was sent a set of pictures of a new litter to grade and they were the cutest things I've seen in a long time. There is a male in the litter that will take your breath away. I can't wait to see them in person in 2 weeks.
Everybody meeting to train this weekend, we are meeting on Sunday morning at the same park at 9 a.m.

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Just got home from cropping the ears on the puppies.
I think this is the most beautiful set of puppies I have ever seen. Not that I am prejudice or anything but I am so excited for this litter and their future.
I have just spent 4 days with some of my best friends. Not only is it good for the mind but it is great for the sole to spend quality time with true friends and true dog people with years of true knowledge and experience. A great friend passed away yesterday and it really made us realize time is too short for other peoples negativity and games.
It was great to spend time talking dogs and to get my attitude and love for the sport back on track.
Those few who cause so much negative for the sport of dogs can’t ruin it for the ones who truly do love it.
My mindset is back. Those who are puppymills, breed unhealthy dogs, who are liers, users, manipulators, cheats, crooks, thieves, con artists, and all in all do great damage to the sport of dogs are now no longer something I am going to be concerned with. I am finding more and more by phone calls and emails that people know who and what those people are. They back stab others but can’t even see themselves for what they are. These people are a colossal waist of time and energy.
Enough of that. No more negative, it’s time to have fun and make up for time lost.
I plan on doing 7 sets of shows between now and the end of September. I’m going over seas to look at some puppies and some kennels. I am really excited about that. I will be bringing some great dogs back to show in the upcoming year. I will have all of the new puppies, the frenchie a great new am staff and the corsi to show. It going to be a great and exciting time in the next year and a half and I can’t wait.
This time coming is other peoples loss and my gain.
Thanks for a great time and Look out 2010 and 2011.

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Thanks everyone for all the links to Nancy's board. Yes I know the forum is down. It's called poor sportsmanship. After all the bragging that any one of the Board was doing that they were going to have the first Champion and that didn't happen did you really think they would congratulate anyone else?
The BOD have managed to run this club into the ground for the last 5 years the way they do because you allow them to. The BOD is supposed to answer to you not the other way around.
Where is the treasurers report?
Where is the secretary's report?
Where is the chronicle?
Where are the standings for the breed?
Where is the correct breed standard?
Where is the correct constitution?
Where is the list of upcoming breed seminars?
The forum might as well be taken down they weren't posting any of the information that was promised to you anyway. It was used as a self serving way for them each to pat themselves and each other on the back and nothing more.
It was totally monitored and didn't allow any information to be posted anyway.
Instead of complaining why don't you do something about it? Run for office, make the BOD accountable for their actions, file grievances against them, write letters of complaint to AKC, ask questions.
JUST DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF SITTING ON YOUR THUMBS.
Everybody that can be there meet us at 9 a.m. Friday Morning.
I will be getting to Eagle about 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and plan on driving back and forth each day.
Sunday I will be in Eagle by about 7a.m.
Don't forget your wet coats and fans, it's going to be a hot one.
Jason, Anna, Heather, and Cory you should have gotten pictures of the puppies yesterday. Let me know what you think about the choices.

Monday, July 12, 2010

It was a great weekend for a lot of dogs. The Kerry, frenchie, dober girls, chins, and poms all did great.
As I have said from the beginning the hard working kennels doing it right will rise to the top and the kennels who don't will sink. This weekend just proved the point and its a very sad thing.
Congratulations to all the winners!

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

The puppies are getting fatter by the minute and if they keep going like they are now they should all weigh in at 100 lbs by the time they are 8 wks old.
We had a great weekend at Buckhorn this weekend. Thanks to Tim and Connie for letting us stay at their place and thanks for doing such a great job with Kandy. She won her class both days and really looked nice.
Georgia got WB BOS this weekend for 2 pts and Jackson got WD BOW BOB for 2 pts. It was a good weekend for the 2 kids.
So I am sitting here in Phoenix, I just got done having dinner with 3 of my closest friend for the last 20 years who just happened to be at the OKC shows. Man did I get an ear full.
To put it politely (not) they asked me if all corso people were as rude and stupid as the ones at the OKC shows this weekend? I guess the impression made this weekend was not a very nice one and of course the first question out of their mouths was who did they learn to show from, who taught them how to dress and who taught them their manners?
Way to make a good impression you guys I expected nothing less. If you want the whole conversation just give me a call it's really funny.
I am so glad to see the compliments from the CCAA BOD on the turnout this weekend from all the members on the first weekend for the corso. But as one of the members so aptly put it. They aren't thanking anyone because they didn't do any winning and their dogs didn't finish the first weekend like they told everyone they would. The first corso champion isn't going to be one of the BOD's dogs. Surprise Surprise. You got pretty well spanked at a real show didn't you? You should have been out there showing for the last 2 years like the rest of them and maybe you would have done something.
The comments we got from the judges this weekend were really interesting. I'm so glad they have a standard that is so consistent and they can understand it. THAT'S A JOKE EVERYBODY.
I'm off to go look at 2 puppies then come back and help my mom pack. I'll be home on Friday. We are all meeting Saturday night to train unless I call. See you there.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Little Mr. Dody's first win in Durango for 2 pts.

Monday, June 28, 2010

Fame puppies 2 weeks 2 days, taken this morning.

Paris puppies at 2 weeks 2 days old.
The puppies are doing great, getting fatter by the day. Everybody is up and moving. Not very gracefully but they are up. They have all learned how to bark and are starting to play.
Everyone should be getting pictures in just a few minutes.

Saturday, June 26, 2010

Little Miss Kandi's first win at 11 months (Fame X OZ) taking WB, BOW.
Congratulations to Tim and Connie.

Friday, June 25, 2010

Fame babies and the little boy I am keeping. Taken at 13 days old.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

The puppies are huge, fat little barking machines and we are having such a good time with them. The little Tommy Clone weighs 2lb 10oz at 12 days. He is a real monster.
We are leaving for the Buckhorn shows Thursday evening. Anyone who doesn't know your schedule call and we can get it figured out.
.
Puppy pictures coming soon.

Sunday, June 20, 2010

"I'm so sorry to see the club is making this a head breed. So many of our fine working dogs have disappeared because breed clubs put too much emphasis on one particular aspect of a dog.
This breed presentation has no consistency in type, structure or head. How are judges ever to know what is correct by taking this study?
I see a lot of cute pictures but what does that have to do with education, the drawings make it truly impossible to understand the head or the structure of this breed.
Why would a working breed of dog ever be allowed to have yellow eyes? In almost all pictures presented the animals have light or yellow eyes. You don't see this in any other working breed.
I would like to see what movement is supposed to look like in this breed. The pictures show everything from a dog that is overdone with a rolling topline to a dog with no type and substance with incorrect reach and drive.
It shows everything from a rounded croup to a tail coming straight off the topline. Which is correct?
There are examples of dogs with angle in the rear and a straight shoulder. Examples of dogs with no rear angulation and shoulders set to far forward.........."

Thank you for your critique.
This one goes on much longer but you can see the type of responses I have been getting.

Saturday, June 19, 2010

And my favorite comment is:
".....This club is taking this breed by way of the German Shepard. By making it a head breed the temperament, structure and movement will soon be ruined......"

Friday, June 18, 2010

All right everyone,
I sent the breed education information to 4 different working breed committee's to review like you asked me to.
Basically they all think it's the biggest joke they have ever seen. The breed education for the breed is all over the place. There is no consistency in any of the photographs, the grammar and spelling is awful and since when is this going to be a head breed? The drawings are off scale and come are very noticeably crooked. If you are going to take 10 pages to describe the head then you should take 10 pages for structure and 10 pages for movement, they are far more important than the head.
Basically they all said it was a bad job and would be of no use to the judges in learning and judging the breed.
A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

"I'm so glad when we go AKC there weill be people who know how to breed and do it the right way"
"Thanks for the poll. I agree with everything everybody said and I know who the breeder is that had the heart trouble. They shouldn't be breeding and selling dogs. I can't wait to go AKC and get away from these idiots."
"Great Poll Kathi. All of us breeders who have been breeding and testing for years try to teach exactly that. TEST, PLAN YOUR LITTER, DON'T PLAN ON MAKING ANY MONEY IF YOU DO IT RIGHT, AND NEVER EVER GET INVOLVED WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE PUPPY MILLS. They shouldn't be allowed to belong to clubs or show their dogs."
"Thanks for the poll. Gives you something to think about."
"Who would ever breed a bitch or dog underage or and K-9 with a history of health issues or that hasn't been tested? That's just disgusting"
"WTF are people breeding for if it isn't for money?"
"Healthy dogs are very important, that's why our club puts restrictions in the code of ethics."

Thank you everyone for all of your replies. There were so many I wish I could put them all up.
Bottom line is breed like you care, care about what you breed, care about your dogs, care about the people you sell them to and be sure you can look every person in the eye because at the end of the day you did the best you could and didn't cut any corners or try to rip anyone off.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

This was purely an informal poll. Breeders of 6 different AKC breeds replied. Those breeds included Dobermans, Boxers, GSD's, Corsi, Pomeranian's and French Bull Dogs.
Here are the results:
Reputable breeders return money to buyers if there is a health issue with the puppy then if this is a returning issue of more than one puppy spay the bitch, test their lines and take appropriate measures to insure this does not happen again.
Reputable breeders have 1 - 3 litters per year and breed to improve the breed not to sell puppies and make money.
Reputable breeders of large breeds only allow their bitches to have 3 litters and smaller breeds allow their bitches to have 3-4 litters.
The average age of a bitch when producing her first litter is 2-3 years old and done after she has her health testing and hips.
The average age of a male when producing his first litter is 2 years old and done after he has his health testing and hips.
And finally if you have more than 6 litters a year consistently you are considered a "PUPPY MILL" by reputable AKC breeders.

D 6

Part 2
How old is a bitch when you breed her for the first time?
Results of yesterdays poll.
We had 28 responses to this question.
A 28
B 0
C 0
D 0

All 28 answered they breed to improve the breed.
We also got an "Are you kidding, you don't make money on litters if they are bred right, you do all your testing, health, care and vet checks. Only the ones out to make money actually do because they cut corners and don't do anything to help the puppies."

On another note. If you have 3 generations of heart issues it's not just an oopsy. It's a definite genetic fault within your bloodlines. You you need to take responsibility for your actions.

Saturday, June 5, 2010

Today's POLL
How many litters do you plan on having this year?
A. 1-3
B. 4-6
C. 7-10
D. 10 +

Part two
How many of those litters are you breeding to improve the breed and how many litters are to make money.
Thanks for the replies. Here is what I ended up with.
I had 44 emails and 4 phone calls from breeders of 6 different breeds.

A - 0 votes
B - 0 votes
C - 0 votes
D - 48 votes

I also got
33 - OMG are you kidding me's.
6 - If that were to happen in my kennel I would either get out of breeding, get out of my breed or start new bloodlines.

I am so glad to see the breeders are standing up for what their kennel stands for, are breeding healthy dogs that are being tested and are standing behind their puppy owners.
It's those few and far between that make a bad name for everyone who cares for the "Betterment of a Breed." After all that is what you are breeding for in the first place, that's what every breeds code of ethics requires.
Breeding for the almighty $$$$$$$$ and having 10 + litters a year is what the BYB's are about.
Thank heavens every breed knows who those people are within their breed and can spot those breeders in other breeds from a mile away.

B. tell them to wait and see how it does.
C. tell them the puppy can still be bred and shown.
D. immediately take the puppy back, return the owners money, test the puppy and have the bitch spayed since this is an inherited disease.
I will let you know what everyone voted tonight at about 9 or so.

Mom flew into Austin yesterday than on to New Braunfels and Canyon Lake for the weekend before she and my brother go back to his house in Waco. I am so jealous, I would love to be on the river this weekend or at Schliterbaun playing in the water then go to Gruene for Dinner.
There are majors in dobes in Longmont next weekend. Hopefully my girls will do well and pick up some points. I won't be able to go, Shauna will be taking them and I will be at home on puppy watch.
First weekend in July will be for the corsi and their full recognition into the working groups. I am double entering CO and OK. It will be my first weekend back at shows after taking the month of June off for the litter. I have the am staff, frenchies, dobes, corsi and mastiff confirmed so far for those shows. Thursday, May 20, 2010

Good Morning everybody,
Thanks for all the phone calls and emails, you have been cracking me up. But these things are a serious matter, Yes, I was taken by the "I'm a Christian" scam once in my life.
Your emails are still cracking me up about it, you made my evening.
Have a great day I'm off to a dog show later this evening, the last one for me until the 1st of July.
PUPPIES DUE, YAY!!!!!!!!!!! My one and only litter this year.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

OK everybody, We are leaving thursday around noon and should be there by 3.
Why don't we all try to meet at the show grounds at 5 to go to dinner.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

For all of you asking about the complaints please feel free to contact me and I can give you the information.

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Yesterday was a lot of fun. We went to the "Mike the headless chicken" festival in Fruita. Pineapple Crackers was the band playing after the Big Hair Contest. If you remember who Pineapple Crackers are then you are really showing your age.

Yesterday afternoon was really fun. We tried out a new helper with the bitework. The older dogs got to get a bite and have some fun that they haven't been able to have for a while and I got to work some of the young dogs and see what I have coming up.
To my great surprise Georgia (Blue Ridge Georgia) was unbelievable. Her first time even seeing a sleeve, we got a full mouth bite, she loved it and wanted more so she had a full training session. This is a young girl who is my big clown, babysitter to both kids and small animals and loves everyone. It's so nice to have a corso with correct temperament who wants to work, show and be a clown. It's also great to have all around dogs here. I'm used to it with my dogs but not with the corso. It's been a great pleasure to get corsi here that have it all balance, correct temperament, a willingness to learn and a love of people.
I think I've found my working dog and I can't wait to get started.

Trying out a new helper tomorrow. Anyone wanting to work their dog give me a call tonight so I can get you set up.
Going to Mike the Headless Chicken on Saturday, I have never gone. It should be a real kick.
One more time for those of you still calling. YES, his age was a lie and NO I'm not going to do anything about it. Really, Who cares if someone doesn't know the age of their dog? If that's all we had to worry about the world would be a much better place.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Thanks for all the phone calls and e-mails everyone.
Yes I know he was only 10 years old when he passed away. He is in a much better place now.

Off to the Durango dog shows next weekend. I love it when shows are so close.
I have schedules worked out just give me a call.

Congratulations JoAnne and Steel Campbell.
It's going to be a great year in AKC.

It was really a fun weekend except for the wind.
Tahiti, Cha-Cha and Kandy really looked right on. It's the first time I have ever seen a weekend where only reds were put up.
Dakota got 3 MBIS, was a great ambassador to the breed and did some great education. It never ceases to amaze me what the AKC judges are being told about the breed.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

We are leaving for Wichita at 3:30 in the morning. We should be there by 5 so we will see you at the showgrounds to get set up.
Give me a call tomorrow along the way and let me know what time you guys will get there.

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Amy just got hold of me about doing the Purina Farms shows May 7-9. That is also the same weekend as the Jordan UT shows. Everybody that's interested give me a call so we can figure which show to work into the schedule.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I'm taking the upcoming weekend off for Easter. We leave next Thursday for the Wichita shows (4/9-11), We are cropping the following weekend (4/18) so we are thinking about having another working weekend the weekend of the 24th.
Give me a call to let me know if that weekend works for everybody. We will be doing temperament tests, working and possibly CGC, so we will have a little bit of everything for all ages of dogs.

Monday, March 29, 2010

Great weekend everybody. Thanks for coming down to train.
We had a lot of great Sch dogs here over the weekend. We did a lot of work and had a lot of fun. We had 10 dogs working here at different levels this weekend and hope to double it next time.
It was great to see old friends and be with some true dog breeders, owners and trainers.
We plan on having another weekend real soon. I'll keep you posted.

Tahiti's win picture from Garden City
Just got the counts for Wichita KS shows. It's a major in dobes but didn't make majors in frenchies, am staffs or labs. I'm also surprised to see that I have the only corso at least there are other misc. breeds there.
Thank you everyone for all of the letters and phone calls. It's great to hear from so many people who remember him, saw him show or compete. All of the stories were really fun and helped me remember the good times.
I see him in so many of his kids and grand kids and of course I have little Karigan running around here who looks just like him and thinks she is every bit as tuff and important even at 9 months old. I can't wait to see her grow up.

Again thank you for all the kind words and the memories.

Today my Bodie boy passed away. He was 11 yrs 361 days old and looked like he was still a kid.
I have had some great dogs in my life but he took my heart the day he came to live with me. He was one of the toughest, sweetest, smartest, strongest dogs I have ever owned.
Bodie has had 4 grand kids in the top 20 and has one there now. In his limited breeding he produced 6 CH 12 working titles 14 temperament tests and 3 Sch titled dogs.

His kids and grand kids will live on to further prove his worth

I miss you and loved you with all my heart.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Thank you everyone for all the phone calls of congratulations. It's always great for any breeder, trainer or handler to see all their hard work come to fruition.

I couldn't be prouder.

My three babies at the Garden City shows. I am so proud of them and what they have accomplished in such a short time.

Congratulations to JoAnne for her Grand Championship on Tahiti, to Diego and to Nikki. It's great to see 3 dogs that I have trained, shown and finished go on to other things.

Bodi Boy, the love of my life. Not bad for an 11 year old man.
Bodi Is the grand father to the 3 girls below.

Sunday, February 28, 2010

As you know I do know the history of this breeding very well. NO, I would not personally buy a puppy from this breeding nor would I recommend it.
Just give me a call if you have any questions.

Friday, February 26, 2010

Don't forget class at 11 a.m. this morning.
bring your bait.

SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

Thursday, February 25, 2010

OK let me re-emphasize this for all of you that just called me.
Just because a breeder has had multiple litters over a few years does not make them an expert.
If they have not improved their lines they are not doing something right so they are NOT an expert in the breed. Have they, themselves gotten any champions in their lines? Have they themselves gotten any working titles, obedience titles or temperament titles on their own dogs? If the answer is NO then they are far from someone who should be giving anyone advise. It takes years of training experience and working experience to become an expert at anything. So listen to those who train, work and show their dogs not to the computer warriors and self proclaimed experts.
To everyone calling me this morning I understand your frustration.

JUST REMEMBER

It's not the quantity of puppies a breeder has produced but the quality.

It's not the number of years they have been in the breed but what they have actually done to contribute and to improve it.

Many self proclaimed experts do not even know how to feed a dog correctly let alone walk it on a leash, train it or care for it. What makes them think they are qualified to give others advise?
Maybe these self proclaimed experts should get off the computer and care for their dogs instead of criticizing others.

You can talk about anything but it's actually what you yourself do that counts.

I want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to my dobergirls. Cha-Cha and Tahiti are littermates and the battle is always on with those two. Cha-Cha is at 8 pts and Tahiti is at 7 points. They are two beautiful girls and I'm proud to say I bred them. Shauna and Gina are doing a fantastic job showing them and I can't say thank you enough.
It was little miss Kandie's first weekend in the ring and she did a great job. I'm glad to see Tim and Connie are having fun with her. Watch out big sisters Cha-Cha and Tahiti, Kandie is right behind you.
On a side note I found it very interesting that one of the judges for the Misc. this weekend asked how I thought the mouth should be examined since there is a 2 tooth disqualification - "this is a working breed and I should be able to examine the mouth." He had been told by an exhibitor that he couldn't go in the mouth of a corso because he could be bitten, so how did I feel about him examining my female.
For all of you with your little fantasy about the corso, this is a working breed and the judges WILL be going in their mouths and counting teeth so you better get used to it and get your dogs trained and socialized so someone can actually touch them and get in their mouths. AKC judges have no problem DQ-ing a dog for an aggressive behavior or inappropriate behavior in the ring. They will kick them out for missing teeth, and disqualifying bites.

OK everybody here is what we have so far. Sorry I haven't posted sooner but we haven't gotten back to the hotel before 6:30 each evening then taking care of dogs and getting a bite to eat it's just been too late.
We got 4 inches of snow here in Denver this morning so that made things even more fun.
As always the shopping is great.

I will post Monday's results some time Tuesday after I get home.

If a person says it's their "business" then they are breeding strictly for an income as in any other business, so what do you think?

Business
Definition

Economic system in which goods and services are exchanged for one another or money, on the basis of their perceived worth. Every business requires some form of investment and a sufficient number of customers to whom its output can be sold at profit on a consistent basis.

Lets post it and see what every ones opinion is.

Pictures I got today of Kandi at 6 months.

Health issues include but are not limited to:
temperament
rage
shyness
unstable
health
DCM
demodex
cancer
wobblers
liver failure
kidney failure
light sensitivity
bleeders (as in VWD)
thyroid
bloat/torsion
missing teeth
allergies (food & environment)
blindness
dysplastic (hips & elbows)
tearing ACL's

Be sure to do your research on the breeder you choose before purchasing a puppy. There are too many puppy mills out there selling dogs with these issues. Make sure these are nowhere in the bloodlines.

Don't forget that entries close on Wednesday. We have working group specialties on Thurs. so we will be leaving Wednesday morning. We will be set up in grooming by ring 9 if you are dropping off.
